Mettl Secure Browser (MSB) by Mettl is a lockdown application designed to deliver online exams and assessments in a controlled, tamper‑resistant environment. It launches tests in full-screen mode and prevents candidates from navigating away from the assessment, opening unauthorized websites or apps, using restricted keyboard shortcuts, or sharing/recording their screens. MSB also detects and limits remote desktop tools, virtual machines, secondary displays, and other common bypass methods, helping institutions and employers preserve test integrity in remote settings. When used with Mettl’s proctoring options, it manages the required camera and microphone permissions and guides candidates through any pre-exam checks.
